Ancient African Art

The ancient African art mainly represented the religious beliefs and cultural ideas through the various artifacts, namely masks and figures. Apart from masks and figures that were used in religious ceremonies, these beliefs and ideas also found artistic expression in a number of utilitarian objects and tools of everyday life. The ancient art forms were extremely traditional in nature and they formed the major part of the African society. One of the earliest artforms of African culture were terracotta statuettes that were found in the Nok culture of Nigeria, around 500 B.C.

Ancient African art comprises of contributions from a variety of tribes all over Africa. These tribes created different art forms, unique and peculiar to the tribe. There is immense diversity in the African art culture and the artifacts, native southern arts and a variety of existent cultural art forms from the western tribes, have contributed to African art in a big way. Most of the art forms depicted the abundance of surrounding nature and abstract interpretations of animals and plant life. Some of them flaunted primitive designs and shapes. It is observed that the sculpture in wood is intricate and time defying. Most of the ancient sculptures were made of wood and other materials, such as terracotta, mud, beadwork, ivory, metal and stone. These sculptures mostly had humans as their main subjects.

A vast collection of ancient African art can be found in a number of museums all over the world. The art mainly consisted of artforms with human and animal subjects and depicted the positive and negative aspects of human behavior. The history of African art also proves the importance of religion and religious practices in the African culture and people.

Airbrush Tanning

That is the reason why women, as well as men opt to undergoing cosmetic surgeries, using various cosmetic products, buy the latest style of clothes, etc. In short, changing the way you look; improving your appearance.

Changing the skin’s complexion is also one of these ways. The most common method in making your skin look more beautiful is through tanning.

In this kind of method, you can have the skin that most are craving for; bronzed or tanned skin. There are many methods used in tanning. You could choose from an array of tanning methods like natural tanning (sunbathing) and currently, sunless tanning procedures.

Airbrush tanning is one of these. If you are searching for a method which is fast and convenient, airbrush tanning may suit you. As it is called, an airbrush or a spray gun is used to apply the sunless tanning solution on the skin.

Before preparing for the tanning procedure, make sure that you know the right preparation and what to do after the procedure.

In Airbrush tanning, as well as in other procedures involving the skin, cleaning the skin is a must before undergoing the procedure. Exfoliation is recommended to get rid of dead skin cells and for the tan to remain longer. Also, avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes when you are about to undergo the procedure or bring loose-fitting clothes if you want. This is because tight clothes could rub with the tanning solution on your skin. Wearing make-up, fragrances or deodorants is also not advisable as it may interrupt with the absorption of the tanning solution on your skin.

Care after the procedure is also of utmost importance. Taking a shower is advised to be 12 hours after the tanning procedure. Don’t be surprised if you see a bronzer wash off – this is normal. At this time, exfoliation is not allowed but moisturizing the skin is advised. It should be moisturized so the tan could last long.
