Calligraphy is a beautiful and unique form of handwriting. You can have your invitation’s hand-written with this form of handwriting even though that would take a very long time in order to accomplish. Many printing businesses that do wedding invitations for a living have special computer programs that will print in the Calligraphy style handwriting which would make the process a lot more efficient and a lot easier for the business that you are getting your invitations from.

There are a lot of people that think that if their unique wedding invitations are being printed on that it won’t give off the same affect that hand-written calligraphy does and that their invitations will not be unique anymore but this is just not the case. There are many websites in which you can visit to see examples of printed wedding invitations that have printed calligraphy on them and with the type of printer that is used, the type of ink and paper that is used, you hardly can tell the difference and won’t be able to guess if it is printed or hand-written without any doubt. Calligraphy is a special art form that would only bring style and grace to your unique wedding invitations rather it is handwritten or printed because with the way technology has grown and is still growing, you can basically have your invitations as unique as you want them.

Having unique wedding invitations for the most special day in a woman’s life is a very important aspect about the wedding and has to be just perfect. Calligraphy gives it that type of importance that you have in your heart but only put down on paper. Couples, today, will have no problems on finding the perfect printing business in order to get their perfect wedding invitations. You just have to make sure that you give them plenty of time in order to get them done and back to you so that you can have them mailed out in plenty of time for the actual date of your wedding.

As a home decorator or someone who simply wants to breath some fresh air into your living environment, it’s important that you get out of the habit of reaching for the white paint when it’s time to freshen up your walls. Not that there’s anything wrong with white paint – it’s just so standard that it has quite truthfully become a bit boring and sterile. To give your environment a splash of personality, why not try some real color?

Beware the Power of Color!

We all know that color influences our moods. Unless your walls are white (or even off-white), your environment can actually dictate the kind of behavior that you want to experience. Now we’re not suggesting that you engage in any psychological warfare or anything, but we are suggesting that you take some time in selecting the colors that you want your walls painted with because they can create a feeling – whether you want them to or not!

Moods, Feelings, and the Effect of Color

Generally, deep blues, greens and browns reinforce the feelings that we experience when we’re outdoors. These are the colors of nature, however black, white, gold, purples and/or rich reds give us a feeling of elegance or even royalty. Yellow, red, and orange colors can visually warm a room, while blue and dark purple can cool it down. Calming colors are green and blue while colors that excite us are red, orange, and yellow.

The Role of Decorative Painting in Creating a Mood

Decorative painting makes use of these feelings and combines them in such a way that they may even create multiple moods in one setting. Generally, decorative painting attempts to set an overall mood while the objects and/or appliances in a room complete the mood. For example, a room that’s painted blue may include light purple carpeting and dark green blinds. The blue walls tie the purple and green together because both purple and green contain a little blue inside of them: red + blue = purple; yellow + blue = green.

Complimentary and Accent Colors

Complimentary colors are hues that blend in well with a main color because they contain a little of the main color. And our carpet and blinds example demonstrates the use of complimentary colors. Accent colors on the other hand are small bits of color that make a main color stand out. Back in our example room, a collection of small red pottery or a yellow lamp might appropriate serve as accent colors.

Making a Bold or Subtle Statement with Color

Decorative painting – whether it’s applied to half a wall, one wall, two walls, or all the walls of a room can certainly exploit this science of color theory and help to make a statement. The statement needn’t be bold – your environment can certainly quietly speak through muted colors and subtle variations. The important thing is that you’re aware of its power and use its power to your advantage.

Some of the world’s most popular art forms among collectors, fans and novices today are Pop Art and Modern Art. These two forms of art are typically found widely around the globe in homes and in personal collections as well as in museums and galleries more than all other forms of art combined. Because Pop Art and Modern Art can be found in a variety of styles and mediums, anyone can find the right piece to accentuate their home of office as long as they know what they are looking for.

Unfortunately, there are many people who do not know the difference between the two art styles, and many believe them to be the same, though this is not the case. It takes time to learn the differences between the two and to recognize one from another, but once you have learned this you will feel that it was not that difficult after all.

The Pop Art movement began during the mid 1950′s in Britain, and later moved to the United States near the end of the 1950′s. Pop Art is created using reality and familiar objects and sights as inspiration, but puts the realistic item in an unusual place or changes it in a way that is not all that common or not widely known. Pop Art is known for bright colors and paintwork, strong, bold lines, and sometimes used in the design of comic books, advertisement, and consumer goods.

Giving off emotions and attitude, and representing pop culture, Pop Art was considered controversial and non-artistic when it was first created. Now more accepted, Pop Art is highly coveted my art lovers and collectors.

Completely different from Pop Art, Modern Art focuses on a specific era in time between the 1860′s, and the 1970′s. Modern Art is represented by ‘mood’ or the emotion it inflicts on the viewer, depicting sadness, joy, love, regret, etc. This line of art ‘doesn’t follow the rules’, and is viewed as abstract art. Artists of Modern Art used this method to express themselves and portray specific events, people, and the way they viewed every day life in their artwork.

Modern Art created today may use the same style and mediums of the original Modern Art, but now it is mostly referred to as contemporary or postmodern art. You can’t truly call a piece ‘modern art’ unless it was created in the time frame of the early 1860′s and late 1970′s. True, original art with the Modern art style is still very sought after, though it may not be worth as much.

Both types of art, modern art, and Modern Art are extremely popular these days, though both are completely different. In fact, Modern Art was created as a rebel result to modern art. Collectors worldwide crave both types for their collections, and novice collectors should be able to tell the difference between the two.

If you feel that it is time to make a change in your home because you have been staring at the same four walls for too long, it could be that you could get away with a new layer and color of paint to make all of the change that you are going to need to feel like you have made a huge difference. While choosing the new color of paint is the most important part, thinking about how to make things a bit more interesting should be on your mind as well. Look at textured paint rollers to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a truly spectacular room.

You can get simple textured paint rollers that add just a touch of texture to your walls. You will notice that your paint roller feels different to your fingers when you touch it. The material is not going to be as soft as the ones on typical paint rollers. This allows them to deposit more paint in some areas, and also to move paint away when against the wall to achieve a certain look. They really are quite neat if you take the time to study them.

Though some pick one color and then the textured paint rollers to go with that color, you can get even more creative than that. You can choose one texture in one color, and then you can go over it with another color with a different texture. You may not want to do this randomly though. Perhaps you could take a class at your local home store about using textured rollers, or you could buy a few that you think look interesting, along with the paint you want, and try out a few designs on a spare board before you touch your walls. That way you know you like what you are about to do.

Because you can use textured paint rollers over and over again, just like other rollers, you can put them away for later. You may be less likely to use the same pattern again, but it never hurts to make sure that you clean them out correctly and put them away the right way so that you have them again in the future. If something happens to your home, you have them for patch jobs and touch ups. Wash them with the appropriate soap until the water runs completely clean, and then allow them to air dry completely before you stash them away in a sealed plastic bag for later use.

When the time comes to update a room that you use texture paint roller in the past, you may have to sand the walls down first if your texture is thick. If not, it can show through your new paint job if you opt to go with single color flat again. This can be time consuming, so think about that when you select the number of structures you want to put on the wall. The truth is you do not need much to make a big change, so keep that in mind as you go.

The art of portrait painting has an involvement of expertise, skills, talents and knowledge of a true portrait artist. We could say that the end artwork is perfect if the one who put a hand on it had established the character of the subject on the portrait.

It is a fact that every people who want to have their own portrait paintings has a purpose of displaying those artworks to the crowd. As we may notice that these portrait paintings are commonly hung in the place that is visible to the visitors of a particular home. Because of this reason, many people want to have portrait paintings that are perfectly designed especially if the subject is their own image.

Portrait paintings emphasize the character of subjects. For example, if the image in the portrait is a man with a sword and shield and he is sitting over the black horse, then we could say that he is a warrior or a soldier. We could conclude that a certain subject is a wise man or a scholar if he is siting still with a thick eye glass and he is surrounded by books. Not only that, portrait paintings can also tell a story about the subject. However, some interpretations of the story depends on the viewers. One of the most famous portrait paintings is the Mona Lisa.

There are some interpretation that it is the manifestation of womanhood and loyalty to her husband. Some people who noticed the background conclude that there is a connection between the woman herself and the nature. You may also have a different interpretation in this certain painting but the main point is that it really captures the attention of every viewers because of its meaningful appearance. It is a goal of a portrait artist to establish and bring life to the image of a certain person. A perfect portrait could bring out every detail of the subject that will appear exactly like the original one.

We are the witness of the extreme popularity of portrait paintings in the art industry. The reason is that many people want to have their own masterpiece for their home. Way back in the past, only the royalties and the higher class families could able to have their own portrait paintings. The process was so very inconvenient especially to the part of the costumers for they were required to pose for several hours as the artist was painting them. But now, because of the development of photography, you can able to have your own painting even that you are not a royalty or belong to the high class clan.

Purchasing a personal portrait will not require you to provide thousands of dollars. Thus, an elegant product will be yours at a reasonable price. What is more interesting is that you don’t need to pose for long hours because of the development of digital photography. All you have to do is to send your photograph to your chosen printing company to start your dreamed portrait. The finished product will be delivered to you on or before the set deadline. Now, you could say that you are not only preserving your memories, but your are also painting your personal story through this kind art.

The ancient African art mainly represented the religious beliefs and cultural ideas through the various artifacts, namely masks and figures. Apart from masks and figures that were used in religious ceremonies, these beliefs and ideas also found artistic expression in a number of utilitarian objects and tools of everyday life. The ancient art forms were extremely traditional in nature and they formed the major part of the African society. One of the earliest artforms of African culture were terracotta statuettes that were found in the Nok culture of Nigeria, around 500 B.C.

Ancient African art comprises of contributions from a variety of tribes all over Africa. These tribes created different art forms, unique and peculiar to the tribe. There is immense diversity in the African art culture and the artifacts, native southern arts and a variety of existent cultural art forms from the western tribes, have contributed to African art in a big way. Most of the art forms depicted the abundance of surrounding nature and abstract interpretations of animals and plant life. Some of them flaunted primitive designs and shapes. It is observed that the sculpture in wood is intricate and time defying. Most of the ancient sculptures were made of wood and other materials, such as terracotta, mud, beadwork, ivory, metal and stone. These sculptures mostly had humans as their main subjects.

A vast collection of ancient African art can be found in a number of museums all over the world. The art mainly consisted of artforms with human and animal subjects and depicted the positive and negative aspects of human behavior. The history of African art also proves the importance of religion and religious practices in the African culture and people.

With walls hung with paintings and canvases is a big part of what makes your home attractive and a super place to live in. These hanging prints can when carefully selected become an excellent collection of their own, and therefore it can be with great pride that you show off your accommodation. As a connoisseur of art you might be wondering what the difference is between art prints and oil painting reproductions.

Canvas Art Prints

This up-to-date technology for fine art or photograph reproductions uses a high-quality inkjet printer creating individual copies of any one image or images. That is why canvas art prints are identical copies of the genuine work of art. This printing process is like that of making a photocopy of a hand-written letter instead of rewriting it. Reproducing art by this photomechanical process is now very popular. Artists themselves often use canvas printing to create some copies of their own work which they sell on in limited additions. This special method is used to multiply copies of the best paintings and provide a lot of people with ample opportunity to contemplate their beauty.

Oil Painting Reproductions

Oil painting reproductions cannot be absolutely identical copies of original works of art, because they are recreated by hand. Someone other than the original artist analyses the original and paints a closely matching replica. Using oil paints and painting on canvas skilled artists try to replicate an exact copy of the originals. For those people who really know a great deal about their subject can spot the difference at a glance. Oil painting reproductions are similar to listening to your favorite songs not being sung by the original singer.

In brief, art reproductions are actual paintings, but not only by the original artists. Prints are copies of the original works. Both oil art reproduction and canvas art print can be called reproductions but the first can’t be a print. Both methods of recreation deserve your attention but it is up to you to decide what kind of reproduction you like the most and want to purchase. As the word “reproduction” may sound confusing it is better to ask questions before buying a painting to be sure that you’re getting the right type of “copy”.
